Tapas
A tapa is a small portion of food that is typically served before lunch or dinner. The word tapa in Spanish means lid and it comes from the slices of bread that would be placed on top of a glass a wine to keep the flies and dust away. The Andalucians started this trend when they started to balance small foods on top of the slice of bread. Tapas can range from hot to cold and here at Catas we have it all. At Catas our main goal is to grasp that main concept of small portion as well as its traditional way and bring it to new level. Every single one of our tapas captures its own unique taste. It is almost irresistible to not have seven different tapas in one sitting because of all our different ways of preparing our tapas starting with our fried selection. Our fried Manchego cheese and piquellos rellenos are our top sellers, followed by our unique calamari and various croquetas. We also use the sous vide technique to prepare the octopus allowing the customers to experience the distinctive textures of the octopus. We also serve classic tapas such as patatas bravas, tortilla Espanola and much more. Our tapas menu also has a very broad list of different types of salads, including beet salad and English pea and fava salad. With the background cultures of the chefs and their modern techniques, at Catas you will experience the traditional tapa with a modern twist.
